The PA164 is a high voltage operational amplifier housed in a QFP style package with a monolithic amplifier core designed for high density power applications. The PA164 has an output voltage of 200V and provides 1A of continuous current, 4A peak. Separate supplies for the amplifier core and the output stage optimize the power dissipation within the device. Thermal efficiency is increased by the QFP style package with a heat slug on top, allowing a single heatsink to be mounted over a single IC or an array of PA164 devices.
PA164 features a temperature compensated current limit, an output disable function, and an over-current flag which allows for a flexible system protection. External compensation provides the user options in choosing optimum gain and bandwidth for their application.
Designers can optimize board real estate by using multiple PA164 devices in circuit designs with high power requirements. A wide range of target applications include: adjustable voltage and current sources, test equipment, piezo electric positioning, electrostatic transduction, electrostatic deflection, and focusing for deformable mirrors.
